Tested positive for covid and looking after 8. 5 month old. Now she has high temp too and so upset. Getting by day by day but this virus has drained all my energy and I just don't have much left to give, I'm so tired. How do you all keep going when ill and obviously I can't get any family in to help out. Im so tired and feeling hopeless today

Being ill and a parent is honestly the worst thing I've ever experienced, Covid or not.

Children still need feeding, entertaining etc., it's horrific.

Take all the paracetamol you can and nap when baby naps.

Does your daughter have a dad who can take care of her? Maybe a few days off would help you to recover.

Being ill and parenting is SO hard. I spent from August - Dec last year with severe Hyperemesis from pregnancy & looking back, I’ve no idea how I did it! I literally threw up repeatedly over my daughters head while giving her a bath.. she lived off crackers & peanut butter as I couldn’t bear the smell of cooked food let alone cook any. As we hit October time & the nursery winter viruses kicked in, she’d be awake all night coughing etc and juggling comforting her & feeling like I was dying from vomiting so much, probably the hardest & lowest part of my life to date!

But you get through it! You somehow find some kinda strength & hopefully have a supportive other half like me?! Mine was so fantastic, he took on as much of the childcare as he could inbetween working!
