Using a parasol

Do people find it weird when you use a parasol to protect yourself from the sun?

Like on a pram? No. But if you've got a child running around then a parasol would be really restrictive. Suncream and a hat is a much better bet for a kid, otherwise they'd just have to sit still!

I meant for myself and the older kids whilst going to the town centre etc.

Yes, that would be weird. Is there a skin condition at play? If not then you don't need one, as i said above a hat and suncream will be enough.

I would find that odd, surely a hat is better?

BubblesBuddy · 26/05/2020 16:21

Actually a parasol gives much broader protection and your head isn’t as hot! If you have a free hand, why not? But one parasol per person, surely! ?

Might be good for keeping idiots 2 m away.

@BubblesBuddy I meant better for the situation. I use a parasol in the garden.

I guess this is cultural - when I've visited countries in Asia it's pretty common in sunny weather to see people with parasols whereas in the UK you wouldn't see people walking round with them. It's more hats & sunglasses here.

I find the wrought iron base a bit heavy so I don't go to the shops with it often 😂
