Poo

I'm at my wits end and need advice.

My 7 year old is so lazy with toileting. When he goes for a number 2 he sometimes does not wipe, then we have noticed poo wiped on the wall next to the toilet or on his finger nails. We have spoke to him so many times about this and he can't give a reason for why he does it. We have explained to him how it can make you ill, how it can be seen socially etc etc and he hangs his head in shame but does not seem to stop him.

What do we do? Has anyone else had this problem?

Has he been assessed for SN? Smearing can be a sign of that sometimes, or trauma. I'd speak to your school and GP and see what they recommend.

No, he doesn't have any symptoms of anything and he's definitely never been through anything traumatic. Part of me is hoping it's maybe a normal boy thing? It's never much and I genuinely think it's a laziness thing, I just don't know how to deal with it x

I hope you issue him with a cloth and spray.

@Estsw18 you deal with it by saying "that's disgusting" and sending him back to clean it up every single time.

Does he not tell you why he does it? Do you make him clean it up?
