7 1/2 month old started to get upset at mealtimes

We started introducing puréed food to my little boy just before he turned 6 months. He experienced lots of tastes and would really enjoy it.
Taking his lead we started to introduce more solid foods when he showed interest (egg, toast etc) and again, he was keen to eat.
This last week though (he’s 7 1/2 months) unless it’s baby porridge or puréed apple, after 2 tastes of anything he starts really shouting and crying and holding the food in his mouth.
Obviously I stop feeding at this point, offer water and when calm ask if he’d like more or to stop.
Is this normal to go off food? He’s my first baby.

Teething? Try giving Calpol half an hour before a meal time and see if that helps. Be careful baby doesn't pick up on your anxieties too. Just give them a small piece of food and continue with your meal. Don't leave them alone and obviously watch out for any difficulties but leave them to it.

This is possibly just me, but I wouldn't (and don't) make an alternative if they don't eat what I've made. I never have and never will. DS (he's 2 now) either eats what I've made or he doesn't. It can be tempting if you think they aren't eating enough but remember he will be getting all the nutrition he needs from milk still.
