8 week vaccinations - irritable baby

My son had his 8 week vaccinations yesterday, I gave him the recommended doses of calpol afterwards, all was well. He woke up this morning really irritable and has continued to be all day. Hes taking milk, but not as much as he usually does. Hes had wet and dirty nappies.

Is it usual for a reaction to carry on for a few days?

I just want my happy, smiley baby boy back Sad

Yes, often they are a bit unwell for a few days. It’s just the fever that is likely to spike in the first 24 hours which is why you are advised to give paracetamol if having MenB.

Yes my baby was the same. Dragged on for 3 days. He didn't have much of a fever just very grumpy. Hes had his 12 weeks one today and even though hes not due to get a fever hes sooooo grumpy. Currently 2 hours in to his nap which hardly ever happens x

This sounds very normal. You'll have your smiley baby back soon, don't worry. My ds was miserable for 2 to 3 days for each set.

We have 1yr vaccs coning up and im dreading them!

We had our 8 week ones today. My little one has either cried or been asleep, the latter of which is very unusual for her! She’s not a good napper! She went to bed at 6.30 & has been flat out since! I remember all this with my first, totally normal & he’ll be back to normal in a couple days!
