Drinking cup for 1yo- which one?

My DD is about to turn 1 and I’m looking for alternatives to the bottle for her morning and evening milk. Looking online, I’ve ended up a bit confused:

• lots of ads for 360/non spill cups etc;

• NHS seems to recommend an ordinary sippy cup, no special valves;

• some children’s sites seem to recommend cups with an in-built straw, rather than the sippy bit at the top, to help develop facial muscles;

• dentists say don’t even get into the habit of straws as ultimately bad for teeth.

What do/did you do for milk? Ordinary sippy cup? Or keep going with the bottle for a bit longer?

At mealtimes DD happily sips from an ordinary cup with water in it, but I can’t see her doing 200 mls of milk like that any time soon.

Thank you in advance! Yes PFB and overthinking it, probably. 😊

Think you're overthinking this...

I just gave mine a basic sippy cup (50p one from IKEA) which he's happy with. I found once we switched to cow's milk he would naturally drink less anyway so a smaller sippy cup is fine. We brush teeth after milk.

I save the 360 and non spill cups for his water when we're out and about so I don't end up with a soaked bag!
