Trapped wind

Our son is 5 weeks old and have suffered with wind since he was born. In the first 4 weeks we tried infacol which helped with the wind but gave him constipation, he was still in some discomfort. We have now changed to gripe water (recommended), this has cleared his constipation, however he will not sleep and screams in pain when putting him down within 10 minutes. The only way he seems to sleep is upright on the chest.
Any suggestions? Do we change the milk? Take him off gripe water? Or are there any tips to get him to settled or get rid of the discomfort he is experiencing.
Thanks in advanceSmile

Have you looked into silent reflux? It didnt bother my ds when he was held upright but hurt when he lay flat. Give your gp a call just in case, my sons got so bad at 8 weeks he wouldnt eat.
