He’s 15, very sporty, bright but is becoming more and more unmotivated every day this bloody lockdown continues

He Initially was exercising etc. Now says what’s the point as rugby season won’t be back in autumn etc

On Xbox all the time really as says there is nothing else to do

Any tips or advice - this situation is just So crappy for them (

My DS is just the same so we decided that we need a bit more of a routine. Our plan is for a family walk in the early evening plus he's agreed to a short run 3 times a week to keep his fitness up.

Other than that I've asked him to help out with the cooking/gardening as well as extra Spanish practice as he's behind in class.

That’s such a good idea

It’s so fkn hard on these kids as their whole life is their mates so no wonder they gravitate to the bloody Xbox

Mine is old enough (19) to have money of his own: the moment he realised lockdown was coming he ordered some gym equipment online. Mainly weights. I can hear him thumping away over my head as I write. He has also been working out an exercise programme for me and dh.

I think he has taken it better not just because he is older, but also because his sister is disabled and he has seen her unable to function for long periods of time since he can remember, so a few months without meeting his mates didn't seem that bad to him.

@corythatwas yeah mine has weights and does workout - it’s the same-ness of every day and no end in sight I think that’s so disheartening (

It is tough, but it WILL PASS.
