Toddler portion size

Hi everyone,

Was just wondering how much everyone feeds their kids. I have 18m twins boy/girl. They are very fussy and mealtimes are a nightmare. If it's something they like they'll stuff themselves but sometimes can't even get them to have a couple mouthfuls.

My question is portion size ?

If I use the thin extra special sausages from Tesco, how many should they be having each?

They will have to just 1 piece of toast each with half a banana each for breakfast sometimes, is that enough?

I'm worried about under/over feeding

Thanks

Toddlers are pretty good at self-regulating their food intake. As long as what you’re offering is healthy and model good eating habits yourself, it’s very unlike that they’ll just eat and eat until they become overweight.
With mine, I always found that it was best to serve slightly too small portions, and then give them seconds if they wolfed it down! I didn’t want to overwhelm them.
1 piece of toast and half a banana for breakfast is ample. And 1 sausage will be sufficient.

For that age it sounds just about right! I give my 2.5yo double that now and it's always finished off
