Keep getting blood in baby poo

My 6mo has had little streaks of blood in his poo, once a day for about a week. It then stopped for a few days, then has returned again. I have spoken to the gp who wasn't sure (over the phone) and stool sample came back fine, but as ds seemed well and the blood stopped, he said not to bring him in - however do if it happens again. So I'm calling first thing tomorrow morning as it's obviously happened again.

Of course I will be in touch with my gp and listen to advice, but sometimes it helps to get some ideas from others so not going round the houses too much. What on earth could this be? He seems well in himself which is the only reason I'm not panicking more. Surely someone has had a similar experience?

It's streaky, fresh looking.

I think I am more concerned it has come back, as if it was a 'strain' tear it should've cleared up. He does go quite a lot.Hmm

I've heard of allergies irritating the digestive system and causing bleeding in babys poo, has it been since eating solids? If not then no idea, i hope gp is helpful and you find answers x

Do you breastfeed OP? I know one of my NCT friends babies had blood in their poo and the doctor thinks it was caused by a burst capillary in her nipple

Tear strains can reopen. Does he seem constipated or have quite solid stools?

Fissures can take a long long time to heal, and frequently reopen and start to bleed again, especially if stools are hard.
