My one year old started choking/gagging on something he picked up off the floor an my partner went running over to get it out of his mouth but he had swallowed it. Trouble is I don’t know what it was so I’m abit worried. Shall I just keep an eye on him?

H! Im an A+E nurse. Just keep an eye on him. If theres no side effects and he seems ok then whatever it was should pass.

If there is any possibility whatsoever that it could be a button battery, I would be heading straight to a&e. Perhaps call 111 anyway.

Like PP said if it could be a button battery then go to a&e but if it’s literally something like a tiny bit of plastic or something off a toy (my brother did this) then I’d let it pass x
