Is it normal to be this tired!? Is it just being a parent?

Just to get a feel of how other people are...
I have two kids 8 months and 19 months.
I am knackered all the time! worse around lunchtime/afternoon. When I say knackered I mean exhausted, have no energy, I just ache all over. Feel like I'm going to crash.
I've been worse during lockdown, partners off so i have been having an hours sleep in afternoon because I feel like I can't get through the day.
(now I'm wondering how I will actually get through the day when I go back to work)
Is it normal to be this tired? Do the other parents out there feel like this 😩

Having 2 that young is definitely exhausting, but I think it would be wise to have bloods taken to check your iron, thyroid, and vitamin d levels, etc, just to make sure there isn't an underlying problem.

I was exhausted all the time and it was my thyroid

I have one 5mo and I currently feel exhausted. Mainly because he wakes about 15 times a night and is up for the day at 6.30am
Pre baby I would get up at 8am on week days and 10am on weekends :/

Humm....I had bloods done about a month after my son was born as I felt so achy and weak, they mentioned thyroid but they came back normal and I didn't make as mother appt. Maybe worth another visit to gp!

I had a 6 month old and 9 year old with learning disabilities and feel permantly knackered with 8 hours sleep and 2 breastfeeds at night. I have been feeling worse since lockdown too.

No idea if it is normal to be this tired but I have the body aches too. You have my sympathies.

I wonder it if is a build up of tiredness from the first few months of having a baby. How well does your LO sleep?

Get the sprinkles--oh gosh I feel for you, that must be so draining not to have a night's sleep! x

Weepingwillow22- Ah I'm glad to know it's not just me, been feeling a bit useless. It gets you down abit doesn't it.
I'm very lucky, my eldest sleeps 8 till 8 and my little one from about 10.30 till 8 so I really can't complain on that front. (though I'm a very light sleeper, I wake up allot in the night)
