I’m new to mumsnet and thought I may find some advice and help here from anyway who has a similar experience.
I have a just over 2.5 year old boy who has struggled as a baby with chronic eczema which was finally diagnosed as severe allergies and is now under control, he was late walking due to hypermobility and is still saying no words - at all.
He gestures when he wants something and I’m sure he understands a lot of what I say. He makes a lot of noise as if he’s trying to talk but it comes out as babble really.
He is at a nursery so is surrounded by other children and has had some speech therapy which I will carry on with.
Does anyone else have a child who was late talking?
We have had a hearing test and this is fine. The health care visitors have thrown the possibility of autism in there but I have seen no other sign of this and he has not been seen by a professional in relation to this subject.
