I?m hoping that you will be able to advise a mate of mine who is a bit worried about her DS. He was 4 in April. He has never been a big drinker, he does drink but will just take a few sips rather than drink a full cup/glass.

He seems to do a lot of small wees in a short space of time. There is always a bit of a dribble first ? initially she put it down to him being busy/involved in what he was doing/playing with but now its every time, no matter what he is doing.

His wees are never very ?forceful? for want of a better word, will be a trickle rather than a gush!

His mum will ask him a lot whether he needs to do a wee and he?ll say no, then all of a sudden he will be desperate.

He is still wet at night, wears a pull up and it is wet every single night without fail. She has tried doing no drinks after 5 o?clock and tried to put him on the loo when she goes to bed at about 10.30. He would do a wee, but still be wet by morning. One time he was already wet when she put him on the loo at 10.30.

She has asked me to ask you if you think this is normal. Do you think she should she go to the doctors?

Thanks in advance.

GS was like this, and still has days when he's constantly weeing - although he is improving (and he's never wet the bed). It's probably just normal for her little one - but if she is worried, then perhaps she should talk to her GP, just to allay any concerns that she has.
As for the wet nights - I think it's not seen as 'abnormal' until the child bout 7, so woldn't worry too much about that one.

The frequent small wees with little awareness of when he needs to go, sounds like a food reaction.

My DD reacts like this when I drink cows milk and then breastfeed her. If I stay cow milk free, she holds her wee for a number of hours as normal.

Common food reactions are cows milk, wheat and several others I can't remember at the point.
