What to put on baby in carrier?

Have borrowed an ergo omni 360 from sling library. Want to use it tomorrow if not raining. Forcast is quite cold - 8 degrees but ‘feels like’ 4! What do I dress baby in as I know carrier and my body adds heat. Also know you don’t use a snowsuit type outfit. I was thinking vest, baby grow, cardigan, hat and booties? He’s 5 weeks old on Tuesday? Thanks.

Layers sound right because you can adjust as needed. Footed suits are good because there's no chance of losing a bootie or sock!

I have a panel that zips into my coat and extends it so it covers us both. I don't put extra layers on her, just a hat.

The extender panel is called 'Zip us in' and cost about £20 from Go Outdoors. Best thing ever!

Footed suits aren't recommended for slings/carriers.
Like trousers when you sit down the move up your leg it can cause the feet to get squished.
Layers are best, I used to use a blanket I'd tuck it in on either and swoop it underneath. I'd shove it back in if a hit came loose but kept their legs warm. Coat and hat on
