Register birth/child benefit

Hi, looking for experiences & advice please.

Has anyone who has had a second (or more) baby during lockdown claimed child benefit yet? How did you go about it without being able to register birth and get a certificate please?

Yep, just call child benefit and they'll add DC to your claim without any proof. Took me less than 5 minutes. They told me to make sure the name I was giving them was exactly what will be on the birth certificate when we can eventually register so I imagine they'll ask for it at some point. My claim was updated really fast too, I think I got my first payment 4/5 days after I spoke to them!

I just filled out the form and where it asks for details of the birth certificate wrote some thing about Covid 19 (think it says on the gov website where the form comes from what to put).

Got a letter back very quickly confirming new payment value.
