My 4 year old son just does not seem tired and is now got going to sleep anytime between 9 and 9.30pm but still getting up at 6!!! Nothing seems to make a difference. He is still getting lots of exercise as we have a big garden. Anyone else?

My DS 3 years old has been going to be bed anytime between 8.30-9pm it's because if we try and take him earlier he takes long to settle and just messes about in his bed instead.
We are also finding that he will maybe sleep through the night until 7 if we are lucky once or twice a week and the rest of the time he's waking early hours and coming in with us.
My DD 1 year old is the same some nights she sleeps well others she wakes.
With my son I think it's down to the fact he's not at pre school so isn't being mentally exhausted enough and as for the physical side we've got a garden we go out for our daily walk but I guess neither of them are seeing other family or children so not really doing enough to tire themselves out.
I'm sleeping awful since lockdown I'm wide awake most nights myself or I wake up and can't get back to sleep.
Lockdown is having a massive affect on us all 🥺

Not just us then 2beautifulbabs. I think you are right about them not being mentally exhausted. It’s tough when he doesn’t go to sleep until late as I fell that I get 0 down time!

DD is 4 at the end of the month and bedtime seems to have slipped back a little - normally she has a 7-7.30pm bedtime but we have been eating later as a family as DH is home and it has naturally evolved to be more like 8.30pm. Still wakes up as soon as it is light outside, always has!

Talcott2007 We are also eating later. I think it will be a tough adjustment when nursery/school/‘proper’ work starts again.
