Hey all,

DD one last week, she had a cold for last few days and teething again I think. She has been really grumpy most days and not sleeping great at night.

I’ve noticed a new urgency in her communications like “ I want this now” lol it’s hard to keep up with her demands. I know this is part of her development but it seems like she has changed a great deal in a short space of time and her babyish ways have started to be replaced by toddlerhood. Apologies if that makes no sense - sleep hasn’t been a big feature in my life for a week or so!

Just wanted to see if anyone had similar experience at this age, like it just feels different ? Don’t know if I’m failing her as she not contented often now or if this is a passing phase (I’m sure I know the answer anyway)

Thanks all

Yup I know exactly what you mean. Its typical behaviour of a wee one trying to communicate getting frustrated that they are not being understood. There is lots of guessing in this household and as my LOs vocabulary expands we can usually muddle it out. Although she still will grab our hand and drag us somewhere saying "show me show me" trying to show us what she wants.
The grumpiness and frustration probably is a phase as you both try and communicate. We found sign language helped, I could understand her basic demands from quite early on before she had many words.
Good luck!

I could of wrote this myself. My DS is one on Friday and has started to get cross if things are not done straight away, i.e. when he has finished eating In the highchair, he will protest loudly untill he is taken out, I've started not get him his cup at the end. I find though when he is teething it makes him more irritated

Thanks for the replies :) I do try the sign language not much success at the mo but I’ll keep at it.
I guess you get the hang of caring for a baby and then suddenly you do t have one anymore ! Feels like starting from scratch again

Yeah I just get the hang of the stage shes at and then she develops something new to challenge me with! No wonder parenting is exhausting!
