Gro snugs

Hi I am looking to buy a gro snug. My baby is due on 19th July. I have loads of gro bags for when she is big enough so dont want to spend too much on gro snug which she might not use for too long. Do you think I should get gro snug cosy or gro snug light? Do you think a snug light and I can always add more clothes or a tucked in blanket if I need to or a snug cosy as in this country it is rarely super hot? Thanks

We had one but found swaddling with a plain large muslin much easier and baby preferred so I would say to save your money

You really don't need loads of gro bags!! 3 maximum... One to use, one to wash and one to dry.

I got gro bags second hand so that's why I have loads of gro bags x

I'd go light for July. We used gro snugs with DC1 and they were fab because he loathed having his arms swaddled and would only sleep with them up by his head. Gro snug lets you choose arms in or arms out.

There are usually loads on eBay second hand with very little wear.

My little guy hated being swaddled so loved these as he could have his arms out right away before moving onto his sleeping bag. He outgrew his in a month. We ended up with a light and a cosy one as though he was due in November arrived in December. I used the light one much more and just layered up so if you only want to get one go for the light one.

Oh forgot to say, recommend the Ergopouch over the gro snug. Exactly the same concept (can swaddle with arms in/out/1 arm out) but last so much longer as bigger

I have loved our grosnug so much I've just ordered a 3-9 month one now she's outgrown her newborn one! I went for the light one (equivalent to 1 tog). The chart on time tippee website shows you how to dress baby for it. I've just had mine in a babygrow in it and she's been fine. Our room is around 20 degrees. I will be putting it on eBay when our new one comes so let me know if you're interested. It's pink and white though so depends on if you like pink.

Look up Love to Dream swaddles. They’re brilliant. Natural arms up position, easy to put on, single layer so less risk of overheating, allowed baby to rub face and suck fists to soothe. My son was a serious screamer but these really helped calm him. We used them for the first 6 months. I’ve heard Grow Snugs can be very tight around the neck so lots of people stop using them quickly.
