I dont have any mum friends to ask about this & obv not going to any baby classes to make any, sorry for basic questions!
My DD is 13 weeks old- she has roughly 4x 45 min naps per day & sleeps 7pm to 9am sometimes having a bottle at night but sometimes not. Does that seem ok or too much sleep? Is it ok to let her sleep all night without feeding?
Also, she smiles/ giggles and has started reaching for/ holding stuff- should she be doing anything else at this stage? What sort of thing should I be doing with her in her awake times?
I know all babies are different but I think Im just struggling to fill the awake time with her & want to make sure Im not missing anything!
Thankyou! Smile

She sounds just like my 13 week old Smile noticed a change in play and reaching for things over the past few weeks. Also laughing!

Ours has rolled front to back but not consistently.

You are very luckily sleep wise! We probably have a couple more naps but 8-7/8 sleep with usually 2 feeds.

Just keep singing, playing, tummy time, and lots of smiles and eye contact. You will be doing just great x

My 12 week old sleeps from 8pm til 6isham.
She had multiple short naps during the day, not usually more than an hour at a time, unless I walk her in the Pram for a long time.
She makes up for her missed night feeds during the day, look at the overall amount they are having in 24hrs.
We do floor time, attempt tummy time but she just rolls on to her back most of the time, we have a fab play mat from Lamaze, we have stories and chats, she watches me do house stuff.
Babies love to watch you, apparently they don’t get bored of us at this age!
Also, if I need to go and do something in another room and can’t carry her with me, she is entranced by the film Moana.

Thankyou for the replies! My DD doesnt roll over, do you think I should be encouraging her in some way or will she just do it when shes ready? Also, when you say play together on the play mat what do you actually do as mine isnt able to actually play with toys yet. Thankyou!!

Your 13 week old sleeps through the night. Something is going very right.

She just rolls herself, I didn’t do anything to encourage it, if you google it, it says it’s normal for 5month olds to roll from tummy to back, I just think mine hates tummy time!
So we have a mat with toys that hang over it, there’s a mirror, I encourage her to look at herself, she kicks about and makes the toys move but I don’t think it’s purposeful yet. Just interact with baby while they are on the floor, I use playing as a loose term, she doesn’t play with anything, nor can she hold anything yet but she seems to be enjoy it

Re rolling, my daughter didn’t really roll until 8 months, but was crawling by 9 months and walking at 12 so don’t worry too much! I spend what in hindsight was a silly amount of time trying to encourage her to roll for absolutely no purpose 😳
