Aldi's size 3 nappies - good or bad?

Hi everyone,

My LO is just coming out of size 2 nappies, we mainly use Aldi's range as they've been great and obviously one of the cheapest around. However, I've just purchased a lot of Aldi's size 3 range and when researching, a lot of bad reviews have been written. Has anyone else had bad experiences will Aldi's size 3's? If so, what other brands are best for size 3? (Not too keen on purchasing pampers as they're very expensive.)

TIA

I used a mixture of aldi size 3 and morrisons nutmeg size 3, both seemed good to me. The aldi leaked wee a couple of times but nothing major and definitely not often, literally just a couple of times out of the whole few months she was in that size :) they had a slightly bigger sizing then the morrisons, when my DD grew out of morrisons size 3 she still had room in the aldi for a good few weeks.

We've used aldi size 3 and they were fine. DD did seem to grow out of them quickly but thought that was just a growth spurt. Lidl nappies are my preferred ones as they are a bit softer I think , both much better than pampers imo!

I don’t remember them being a problem!

I found they leaked more than size 2 or size 4, especially at night.

Lidl very good, prior to Lidl I used Pampers only

We started off with Aldi size 2s and were really impressed with them, so got size 3s when the time came. Couldn’t have made a bigger mistake, they leaked every time, the legs seemed really tight for the size of the nappy and DS always seemed uncomfortable in them. I don’t know if a different factory makes the size 3 and 4s from the earlier stages but the quality definitely wasn’t as good. And a minor bugbear for me is that there is no wetness indicator in the 3 and 4s.

Didn’t like size 3 and above. 1 and 2 were great.

I used all the sizes for mine and had no issues with 3, they are in sizes 4 and 6 now

We use Aldi but the premium ones. I tried the others in size 3 but they felt too thin and a bit papery. We’re in size 4 now, still use the premium aldi ones and have never had a problem at all. After trying a few these are our favourites

36Ames · 29/04/2020 20:18

PS: the premium ones are a lot more like the size 1/2 nappies and have the wetness indicatior, slightly thicker and all round just much nicer and ‘baby like’ ☺️

I've used the cheaper Aldi nappies since birth.

Going to size 3 was a bit of a shock as no wetness indicator, and quality had definitely gone down. The animal pattern is cute though.

I've always had sizing issues on the thighs with ~25th centile DD (too tight). But it felt like she needed to go up a size very early each time. I don't think she's even hit the 'minimum' weight for size 4 yet, and she's been in them for over a month!

Wetness wise, the size 3s did great, holding an overnight amount of wee just fine. The size 4s.... Not so much. Big leaks after about 6 hours overnight, and the occasional one during the day. I've opted to buy a pack of Pampers to handle the overnights rather than double nappy, even though it's more expensive.

That being said, they're so cheap, the downsides are virtually outweighed. They're not bad nappies, they're just not great. We'll probably stick with them into size 4+/5. Maybe try the premium variety, see if they do any better.

I found they leaked much more. We swapped to Tesco

Yes I had issues with size 3 too. Size 1 and 2 were great and then size 4 up great again but don’t know what happens with their size 3 nappies!

They didn’t have the premium range out when DS was in size 3 so maybe give those a go first.
