Re-introducing dummy at night for 9mo

This is my first post, so please be kind!

My 9 month old sleeps well and has done for a while. She has a dummy for naps but I took it away for night time when she was about 5 months when it started to be more of a hindrance. She couldn't reinsert it and I didn't want to spend my nights getting up to do it. We went cold turkey and she actually started to sleep through not long after, so the right decision.

Recently she's struggled a bit getting to sleep at night (recently started crawling and standing up). I have given her a dummy to help her settle and it works immediately, but I've been taking it out when she's asleep.

Question is: should I just let her have it at night again? I'm fairly sure she can find and I insert her own dummy now.

Has anyone else reintroduced a dummy? I am going to cause a problem for myself later?

Thanks

I wouldn't reintroduce it myself. As you say, just causing problems later when you try and get rid of it again. The novelty of crawling and standing will crawling and standing will wear off and she will hopefully settle again herself.
However I know how precious sleep is so I dont think anyone would judge if you reintroduce for your own sanity!

Thanks for the response. You’re probably right. I might give her another week or so before resorting to the dummy, but it’s nice to have it in my armoury just in case!
