5 month old daytime naps

Hi all,

Up until around 2 weeks ago my 5 month old would have a nap from 11.30am-12.15pm, 2.30pm-4pm and then sleep from 8pm-7.30am with a dream feed around 10.30pm

She is still sleeping well at night but in the day she will only sleep for around 30 minutes and is waking up grumpy and she still seems tired. Often she will wake up screaming and fall asleep again when I start cuddling her to calm her down. She's now having lots of sporadic quick naps. We removed the dummy around a week ago but she was only using it for around a minute to fall asleep and then spitting it out so I don't think it's because of that.

Is there any reason behind this or is there anything I should do to help her have a longer sleep during the day so she wakes up refreshed?

Thanks in advance!

This sounds very much like the 4 month sleep regression (albeit slightly late for you). Take a google. It was a really really tough month/2 months for us. But it did get better. Lots of short naps, grumpy tired baby. Poor nighttime sleep. Yuck. But hang in there it wi improve.

I've had a read online and I think you're right. Thank you for the reply 😊
