Hi parents! I have a two week old baby and a two year old with my husband going back to work this week. Argh! Anyone in a similar situation? I thought maybe we could join forces in sharing ideas on how to get through this and how to keep a toddler entertained when the newborn is having a meltdown, or vice versa.

So far, play-doh and Duplo have been fantastic for quiet solo play for her but I know I can't rely on just these things. What works for you? Let's do this! Grin

Waterbeads and kinetic sand (Not together of course!) keep my 3 year old twins quiet for aaaaages. I’m currently 7.5 months pregnant and desperately hoping lockdown is over before number 3 arrives!!! Oh sometimes I given them child friendly scissors in the garden to trim the bushes and the grass 🤭 that also keeps them quiet!! Good for fine motor skills too (can you tell I’m a teacher!)

3 month old and 2.5 year old. I've been in self imposed lockdown since he was born and then real lockdown shortly after.
I have to admit we are running out of ideas! We have got kinetic sand and play doh but that's now losing its appeal. He is bored of all his toys, he's outgrown some and overplayed with the rest, there's only so many times you can read a book. We have been going on walks and bike rides (he has a bike seat and his dad takes him). We even invested in a massive slide, but novelty value if that has run out too. When it was good weather we spent a lot of time in the garden, he has a stone collection, dogs in the mud, helps me water plants etc. Now it's shit weather we have been watching far too much TV which makes me feel incredibly guilty.
