5.5m ebf refusing a bottle

My little one is 5.5m old. She's exclusively breastfed. I'm due back to work in three months so I'm trying to get her to take a bottle (still with
My milk so I'm pumping).

You guessed it, she won't take it! I've tried tommee tippee ones and a nuk one so far (nuk as that's the same as her dummy)

She's not realising that she needs to suck the teat. Any milk that does end up in her mouth she spits out.

Can anyone offer some tips/advice please! If she won't take a bottle I can't go back to work.

I have a 6 month old who was wholly breastfed and will not take a bottle. Now I am weaning I am introducing a doidy cup with his meals which is working surprisingly well. Supposidly the action of sipping from it is the same as breastfeeding.

My second child never took a bottle, we tried everything, I just kept feeding her until she was 12m old and then stopped, she wasn't keen too wean either, and would put the beaker away if it had the tiniest bit of milk in it. She's nearly 15 now and healthy.

My oldest was very reluctant to take a bottle too but our nanny at the time managed eventually and he had two bottles and two breastfeeds a day from 8 months, she took him out of the home and away from me and got there somehow.

Sorry not very encouraging I'm afraid

MAM bottles worked for us and I've heard a lot of other people say the same :) might be worth a try x

My ebf son took to MAM bottles very well but we introduced them very early on (he was in hospital at 2 days old with jaundice and they made me express and top up every feed with ebm). I hate to break it to you, but I have a feeling at 5.5 months you've got very little chance of introducing a bottle based on feedback from friends who have tried the same thing. Agree with PP that your best plan of action is to get her drinking it out of a sippy cup / doidy cup xx
