To use a dummy?

My 7 week old son struggles to go to sleep by himself in his crib and just wants to nurse to sleep! It means he's attached to me all day long so my husband suggested a dummy. We've had problems with trapped wind and lots of crying before !! Don't want to go back there with a dummy creating more wind. What do you all think? Do dummies cause trapped wind?

I don't think they cause wind, and think you should try one. But - my breastfed DS refused a dummy and just spat it out and sailed until I fed him. So might not be the fix you are hoping for! And, if he will take the dummy then you will need to wean off that later too..

Wailed not sailed!

Plus nursing to sleep is common at that age. Try a dummy but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work! And remember to feed every 2-3 hours regardless.

I was told a dummy would help with wind, helps them to bring it up. So I started using one with my baby and it did work so you could try it
