7 month old possible reflux

My dd (now 7 months) has had an ongoing cough for the past 2 and a bit months. Its not particularly bad, she isnt coughing loads but a handful of times a day. Worse in the morning but really not very noteworthy at all. Has taken to having coughing episodes at night though which wake her and me up. No other cold/fly symptoms at all and no apparent problems with her breathing. I spoke to the dr about it the other day (on the phone) and he suggested it might be reflux and so has given us infant gaviscon to put in her bottles (shes still on all her bottles as hasnt dropped a feed yet). Doc said to try it for 2 weeks and then review. We have been doing this for a couple of days now but doesnt seem to be having an effect at all. Just wondering what experience anyone else has had of it? Did it improve the situation gradually or is it immediate?

I've not tried it no, sorry. Does she have any other signs of reflux? Have you tried raising the top of the cot a bit?

Do you think it could be house dust? Have you tried hoovering her mattress and room and washing her bedding at 60 degrees and seeing if she improves?
