Hi all, I have a 5 week old little girl who will not be put down, any suggestions? I know it’s natural and I have a sling for her which is great in the day but at night we have to co sleep and I don’t want to. I keep falling asleep with her on my chest because she takes ages before she will let me lay her down next to me... she won’t even sleep in the pram she just screams!! Evenings are spent with her in the sling, too after her bath! Have tried swaddling and putting her down and she has done it once, but she usually wakes after 10 mins. Help!!

If you are BFing, have you tried feeding her lying in bed when you go to bed?

For her Moses' Basket, have you tried using one of DH's t-shirts as the sheet on her mattress? Preferably one he's worn for a day or two?

Warming up the mattress and white noise might help too Smile

Hi @Fingerscrossed190, I have a 10 week old who was the same and still is in the day! .
It is only in the last week she has let me put her in, her next to me at night. She sleeps there all night now and wakes to get into bed with us about 5.30-6am ish for an hour before we get up.
In the day she will only sleep on my husband or me, which at the moment isn't an issue as I'm on maternity and he is shielding (meant to be working from home, but just has cuddles most the day) before lockdown I had managed to get her in her mose basket twice to sleep but that had taken me about a week of putting her into the mose basket every time she was asleep sort of training her but going to get every time she cried as she was so small.
I just want to let you know it does get easier and in time your little girl will let you put her down it can mistake time Smile

Thank you both so much, all great advice! Lots to try! It’s good to know that we’re week six and it may get better soon. Have tried the hot water bottle thing. Didn’t think to try DH’s tshirt that’s a great idea! White noise hasn’t worked so far but didn’t initially with my first either I don’t think- she was always great at being put down at night though.

Yeah hubster hs been on leave until tomorrow but like you say, lockdown means he will be working from home so he can have her in the carrier and get on with work while I deal with her energetic sister! She’s nearly 19 months and a little legend but soooo energetic and just wants to pick her sister up! 🤣 xxxxxx

Does she have reflux? That was the issue with mine. He started sleeping better after a ranitidine prescription!
