Hi all,

Has anyone had to give their child infant gaviscon for acid reflux? If so, have you found this works? And does it make baby constipated?

Thanks x

My DD had this at 18ish weeks, i BF and gave it to her in a syringe before and halfway through feeds, worked within a few days and she still pooed but maybe every 36 hours rather than 24. Magic stuff.

My daughter was given it (at 4 weeks I think) and now and again still needs it. It does seem to make her a bit constipated, but I found that half a dose would ease her reflux without annoying her tummy. She's 5 months now and refuses a full dose (I think it's the taste). We did find it helped with the reflux though.

Great thanks both - think I'll do half the dose instead of full dose. Seems to have helped slightly already but just conscious she hasn't pooed as much hence asking if it constipates them. So much worry when you have a newborn..am I doing things right, is baby ok, what's wrong with baby etc!

Thank you for coming back to me xx
