Baby gaviscon advice

Hi guys,

Baby was prescribed baby gaviscon a few times but we switched to reflux milk after we tried gaviscon twice and he screamed in pain both times. Have since found out it can be uncomfortable for them to take at first as throat is sore from acid but this stops quickly.

Anyway - the milk has been working wonderfully for 6 weeks. Now it seems to be coming back at night.

Have been told by doc that we can give regular formula and gaviscon for bedtime feed.

Just wondered if anyone else had given it only once a day and if it had worked?

I’ve not given it no sorry Cherry but was just wondering if your GP has discussed the possibility of Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) with you?

I've never known it to cause pain, how are you fixing it and how much?

I would do both, gaviscon and reflux milk. The gaviscon won't cause pain, he was probably furious you gave him something he didn't like the taste of and his crying caused more air to become trapped in his tummy. Persevere with both and see where you stand after a month.

It never caused my LO pain. I give it after every feed mixed in 100ml EBM
