Registering birth/Applying for child benefits

Hi
So at the moment you cannot register a birth as registry offices are closed and no alternative system in place (e.g: deaths can be done by phone in our county but no method for birth registration) and no information specifically on when we will need to do this.
It says there are special arrangements in place so that you can apply for child benefits without a birth certificate but absolutely no details about what those arrangements are. The form on the gov website to apply doesn’t seem to have been adapted for this and although government website also states alternative measures in place again it doesn’t tell you what you need to do!

I’m not due for another couple of weeks but was just wondering after friend also due now was saying she’d just seen we couldn’t register the births.

Anyone know?

I think I read it's a form ch2. The government's stance at the moment seems to be trusting what you are telling but if you've lied they will get you afterwards.

Yes it's a CH2 :-) The government has enacted Covid -19 regulations that government departments are using so they dont need to update the forms as they will know the circumstances and will check the claim at a later date.
