Will he be ok?

My 10 week old has been crying and clingy for weeks now. As soon as I put him down he screams. It's great fun on the school run or trying to do some shopping with a screaming baby in the pushchair. On Monday he and my 2 year old had their injections. Today both have been really 'shitty' and off colour so I gave my 2 year a dose of calpol and the same with the 10 week old before dashing out on the school run as we were late. Then about 5.00 tonight I gave a second dose. The baby finally fell a sleep and I put him down. He has been moving, smiling, suckling, making noises, opening his eyes occasionally and generally seems well and happy.

I've just been to throw the calpol bottle in the bin and for some reason glanced at the instructions and saw that for his age the baby should of only have 2 x 2.5 ml and I have given him 2 x 5ml. Does anyone think it will cause any problems? Have I harmed him? I can't believe I have done this. I have 2 other children so should know better.

I'm sure he'll be fine, but I would phone NHS Direct to be on the safe side. It sounds like a perfectly understandable mistake.

I too think he will be fine, but you should check with NHS direct.
