18 months and napping

DS 18 months is notoriously a bad sleeper, wakes a minimum of 5 times a night- this doesn't bother me as such and more than happy to continue waking, but think nap time may because the issue!

Wakes between 6:30-7am, and goes to sleep between 7-7:30pm.

If your baby had a similar waking/bed time, what time and how long did they nap for?

16 month old sleep times are like this. She this morning she got up about 20 past 6 and she has just gone for her nap and she will sleep anything from 1-2 hours sometimes if teething a wee bit longer! X

DS is 21mths. Atm he goes to sleep about 8pm & wakes about 7am. He rarely wakes in the night mostly sleeps through.
He goes down for his one nap at 12noonish & can sleep anything from 2-3hrs.
This was similar to my DD - one long afternoon nap, sleeping through night.
However I have friends who's similar ages DC nap for only 30mins total so unfortunately every child is different.

18 month old with same bed time. Goes down for a nap between 11.30 and 12pm. She sleeps around 2 hours, any longer and bedtime is more like 9pm.

Thanks so much everyone!

3 responses and all totally different so think it'll just be a case of trial an error.

Will maybe cut the nap today to an hour and see if that helps!

16 mo bed time at 7, upstairs bath, teeth, story and bed. Sleeps through unless teething.
Wakes between 7 and 8.
One nap around 12 for 2h or 2 and a half hour. I will wake her up after that

My 18 month old has around 1-1.5 hours sometime between 12.15 and 2. I will always wake him up at 2 regardless of how long. He usually sleeps 7-6.30, sometimes with a wake up or two but is increasingly sleeping through unless unwell or teething. I really do believe it’s developmental though. This is a fairly recent development for us.

My 17 month old sleeps 6.45pm - 7.30am and almost never wakes up during the night, but has quite short naps for his age I think, usually only about 45 mins, max hour and a half. He usually goes for his nap about 11.30.

My 18months old dd seems a bit odd sleep wise she goes down at 9pm usually wakes about 8am unless teething/ill then maybe earlier, wakes once in the night on average. Her nap time though is 4pm till 6.30pm.

Light at the end of the tunnel? At 18 months my son was on two naps, a short morning nap (30 mins at about 9am) and then about an hour and a half in the early afternoon. He would be in bed overnight for about 11.5 hours but woke up every two hours at least.

Now he is just about to turn two, has one big nap at 12 for about two and a half hours and generally sleeps through the night for 11 hours. Sometimes wakes up because he's cold and has kicked his blanket off, or wakes up a few times if teething etc. We didnt really change anything, it's just gradually improved. The transition from two naps to one was very difficult, took weeks of him sometimes having one really long early nap, sometimes two short naps, just alternating on how tired he was that day.
