Dumb question...

FTM here and no friends/family with babies to ask. My DS is 8 weeks old and with the weather being so nice I wanted to take him out in the garden. I've bought him a sunhat but does he need sunscreen despite it not being very hot yet?

I feel like the answer is 'definitely' which leads me to the next question, I've always had very sensitive dry skin and his skin is on the dry side, which sunscreen would you recommend? Obviously factor 50 but are there any particular ones that you would recommend? Ideally something I can get on Amazon prime due to current events.

Thanks!!

No, just put him in clothes that cover his skin and a hat and he will be completely fine.

You cannot use sunscreen until they are 6 months, and they should be kept in the shade.

Give yourself a break! No one knows these things by magic - you’re asking and checking, so you’re doing a good job 👍

It's fine for him to sit out in the sun for a few minutes. Just don't have him in direct sunlight for an hour. It's still pretty cold outside, so he'll need to be covered up completely and probably have a jumper or blanket on, so shouldn't really have much sun exposure anyway. Just keep him wrapped up in the shade.
