Nappy Addiction?

hi... I have started to potty train my 2.9 yr little boy ( reward chart, stickers, big boy pants with fireman sam etc etc!) He has done a couple of wees on the loo but only when he gets absolutely bursting ( after about 3hours or so). Before he relents and wees he will cry for his nappy and repeatedly try and put one on by himself. Should I pull back on the potty training as hes not ready or should I go complete cold turkey on the nappies as I think he has the control ( 3 hrs between wees) and by putting him in nappies again would reinforce his need for them (if that makes any sense) really appreciate any help you can give...tks

My 2 and half year old has been doing the exact same thing; will go without a nappy until she needs to do something, then cries for a nappy when she needs to go. I've decided she just isn't ready, although I reckon she is ready physically, just...not completely ready!
I'll be watching this thread wiht interest though incase someone has a magic solution

good to hear its not just me that has a nappy obsessed son! Has anyone else had this & found a good way forward or should I, like Sazisi, decide that hes just not quite ready and give up for another 6 weeks or so? tks again ( he has just done a poo by the side of the tennis ct at the park so am prepared to do anything!)
