What age would you allow you child to go cycling around the area on their own. They would be out of site and going down and around streets about 1 mile distance?

At the moment I wouldn’t even let a teenager out to cycle. It’s not your typical cycle ride situation we’re in, OP.

It wasn't my child cycling!
I saw a girl from school going past my house at least a mile away from her house and Thought it is incredibly irresponsible especially in the current situation.
Just wanted to know if my mind is making me completely irrational

Apologies, OP.

Nope. Not irrational. Stupid fucking parents that are too lazy or ineffectual to keep their children in. That child is liable to pick up the infection and take it home or to any other family or friend that she is visiting.

Maybe she was taking exercise?

I wouldn't allow it at all at the moment. I wouldn't trust them not to stop and chat with other children / dog walkers they might see when out.

Normally, my 10 and 8 year olds are allowed out and about in the village (within about a 1/2 miles radius from home).

I wouldn't be allowing it at the moment, wouldn't trust kids (including teens) not to stop and chat if they saw a friend.
