Newbie needing advice on family routine!

Hi all!

I am a newbie member to Mumsnet. I am a mummy to a lovely 11yr old son, and partner to the most wonderful man of 9years. Look forward to getting to know you all!

So as we know a lot of us are in the same boat suddenly becoming full-time Mums & Teachers practically overnight, so to protect my sanity I have come here hoping for any hints/tips & advice that any of you might have to get me through these next few months (aside from stocking up on wine!! 😆)

I have an 11 year old son, who was studying hard for his SATS, he particularly enjoys Maths which seems to be his strong point. I want to ensure he still studies his SATS books as part of his home learning, but mostly make his days enjoyable !!

Both myself and my partner will be (intermittently) home-working, so whilst its very important for us as a family to have proper structure and routine in place, I want to ensure we have some fun together too.

It goes without saying that my son loves his PC/iPad, but thankfully he is very active too, so we definitely want to include some all-important ‘PE’ on the agenda! 😁 Any ideas of fun/active things to do indoors and outdoors?

Would be interested to see some examples of your ‘routines’ which I could take some guidance from?

Any tips/advice welcomed! 😘 xxx
