My ds is 3 on the 8th of October, I had an attempt at potty training a few months ago and discovered ds has excellent bladder control, and knows in advance when he will poo. He dislikes nappies now as they are too small for him (big for age), and takes them off as soon as they are wet, tells me when pooed.

Heres the problem... he doesn't like to wee or poo on the potty chair or toilet. He has weed on the toilet once, has sat and weed on the potty once, and has stood and wee'd into it with amazing accuracy once also! However that's it, tried each one once and never again. Happy to sit on them, put paper in, flush etc, just not the actual act. He will happily wee on my laminate floor, or go out in my backyard with the sole intention to do a wee on the concrete! So I stopped and decided to wait a little longer rather than make an issue of it.

I don't know where to go from here really. Has anyone else experienced this? We have potty books, he watches me and dp on the toilet, and is now very good with communication. When he has sat on and/or wee'd on the potty/toilet we have made a big fuss, don't know how else we can convince him!

Oh just remembered, we went to a musi festival in the park last weekend and ds came home with the same nappy on as he kept dragging me off to do a wee up a tree!

He is very capable, just need to convince him somehow.

How about putting coloured in ping pong balls (I think sainsbury's actually sell some for the job) in the loo for him to aim at - will make it more fun.

Yes that might tempt him - think he does prefer standing to wee thanks for your reply flamebatfink.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Try putting cheerios in the bowl and see if he can aim at the middle of them. Don´t know what to suggest about number 2´s apart from plonking him on seat when he tells you he needs to go! I used to sit on the edge of the bath and read DS a book!!
