I was claiming Income Support as a single parent for a year or so, and when I decided to do my MA there wasn't a problem, I continued to receive the same amount of money.
My course was part-time, so I'm wondering if that made a difference, however I don't recall the job centre people asking specific questions about the number of days a week I was studying.
I also received some tax credits and had some help in paying the interest on my mortgage.
It was a financial struggle at times, but I'm glad I persevered.
I may be wrong, but I think full time students can get some help towards child care costs, there may be some info on the Department for Work and Pensions website, sorry, but I don't know how to do a link. Good luck though
