3 years ago this month my children were placed into care of a family member under special gardianship due to my partner being in a really bad place with his mental health and a drink problem and was violent from time to time. I was told by SS I was failing to protect my children and put them on child protection due to neglect? with me being in a relationship with him (even though he moved out) We have come a long way since then he is on the correct medication and has had help for the drink problem we are both very stable we have the kids every weekend all weekend and on school holidays and see them everyday. I have been to see a solicitor and he said that I'm not entitled to legal aid due to this already been settled in court? There is a chance I could be pregnant (not confirmed I'm scared to test) and have worried about SS coming to take my baby if i go ahead with this pregnancy there is no longer a SW involved with the children they have been signed off completely I'm just wondering if anyone has went through this and been able to keep a future baby and got there children back the family member they are living with will be happy for them to be returned were just not sure how to go about it any information will be appreciated TFR. If the SW has signed off, why arent the children back with you? Would the best way to get your kids back and keep your baby maybe be to cut ties completely with your partner? What did the SW suggest?

Dump your partner?

If you had ended the relationship 3 years ago would your children have been taken into the care of a family member?
