I have mine for the new course Youth, Prespectives and Practice on the 12th and am starting to get jittery Just hope that I manage to remember some stuff in these last few weeks....my comprehension isn't too bad, but my brain is like a sieve!

Good luck to all in the same boat

Have K309 exam soon.
Have signed up for K303 next year but am having serious doubts about doing it after this years struggle.

ETsmum · 17/09/2007 21:28

Shiny - will make sure I don't do anything like burn the books straight after the exam then !

Lilibet - your courses sound like my idea of a bad dream Good luck for the exam though. Are you aiming for an open/named degree or something else?

Yorkshirepud - I am a bit sad, but I absolutely love getting a new parcel from the OU...may just have to carry on doing courses with them after my degree for sheer pleasure!

Pollylogos + Shiny - U212 really is a good one isn't it? Have found KE308 to be such a good follow on to it. and I am the same....can probably remember more abbout U212 last yr than KE308 this yr...just hoping what I can remember about either will be relevant in the exam.

Thanks for the info TellusMater. What frustrates me with level 3 courses is that you often have to have done courses at l 1/2 to be able to study them. DD303 sounds quite "meaty." Have heard mixed things about ED209 as well though?

Ninjamum - good luck with the exam Not long to go now. Is it struggles with the course that put you off K303 for next yr, or other things in your life? (If you don't mind me asking...)

(is there a smileys addiction group? Just previewed and think I may have a problem )

U205 (health and disease) on the 15th, just trying to finish my final tma so I can get on with the revision, absolutely terrified of the exam which is unusual for me as I have always looked forward to exams in the past (I am a bit strange!).

The books etc.... for L194 (Portales - Spanish) were delivered this morning which look really good, if I can just get through the next month I might actually start looking forward to my next course!

Good luck to everyone who has an exam coming up

Just don't write the smilies onto the exam paper ET.. the examiners with take a very dim view I reckon..

Joash · 18/09/2007 14:28

Yorkshirepudding - I start DSE212 in Oct too, and my parcel arrived a couple of hours ago ... so I've been playing.

Joash · 18/09/2007 16:50

Oldiemum - can I ask how you found DSE212?
was it okay / difficult?

dustystar · 18/09/2007 16:53

I've got my one for D844 on 11th oct which is my 10th wedding anniversary

Still i'd rather an exam than an ECA.

TellusMater · 18/09/2007 16:57

I loved DSE212 (I now you weren't asking me, but I tought I'd give twopennysworth anyway ). It was my first OU course and I thought it was a really good introduction to the subject (and not too tricky ). I did the DXR222 summer school the same year and that was also great.

ETsmum - I also enjoyed ED209, although I didn't expect to TBH. It's important to follow the adice given by the course team and your tutor though. I know people who came unstuck because they did lots of reading around (great) but sort of lost sight of the course materials (not so great).

And the exam was the easiest I have done...

rattleskuttle · 18/09/2007 16:57

i have just one eca due mid october and then that's it - ou degree finished.

chilimama, i loved u205

dustystar · 18/09/2007 16:58

Oh I'll be finsihed too after the exam

Joash · 18/09/2007 17:04

TellusMater thanks for that. Glad to know you found the exam easy as I hate exams.
I can't do the summer school so I am doing the online project in october next year (2008). However, I will be starting ED209 in February next year - so the workload is going to be a killer from then until May. It'll ease off then until the following feb when I'll be doing DD303 and DD307 from Feb 2009 until Oct 2009 - as I need to get the whole lot done in two years.

TellusMater · 18/09/2007 17:10

Two level 3s at the same time? Gosh...

ninjamum · 18/09/2007 22:53

ETsmum,
Summer hols were stressful as DS1 finished preschool and nursery and then had to deal with finishing last tma and getting him started at school. DH hasn't been much support and currently feel like wrung out dishrag. Just don't know if i can do it all again next year but then if I do K303 will have degree and can look at job change. On plus side just found out I got good mark for last tma, surprisingly.
Sorry for the rant

YP - i thought they were a bit thin LOL. I expected big door-stop size books as I remember the amount of books i had to read for my degree.

OldieMum · 26/09/2007 11:19

Joash - I've only just seen this. I have very much enjoyed DSE212. It's a well thought-out and well-written course. It covers a lot of ground, quite quickly, but does so in a very accessible way. My only gripe is that some of the TMAs were flawed (eg the one requiring us to do an experiment built in a big confounding variable. I don't think it was done so deliberately - somebody just hadn't thought it through).

I will be starting the online project next month. I then hope to do the rest of the Graduate Conversion Diploma next year. This may not be realistic (3 courses), but I'm going to give it a try.
