Current favourite is the pirate song.
Also:
Heads, shoulders, knees and toes
row, row, row your boat
the grand old duke of york

any recommendations of good websites for songs and lyrics?

I sing - row, row, row your boat with my dgs he told me a verse that I hadn't heard before ...

'gently down the stream - if you see a crocdile don't forget to scream!'

so I made him another new verse

'gently down the brook - if you see a chicken there don't forget to cluck' and we waft our arms about chicken style making clucking sounds - he loves it!
the things you do with kids

No proper baby songs, but we have a collection of subverted lyrics, adapted for baby use:

Come to me, my melancholy baby
Who loves the baby (sung to the tune of Who loves the chocolate (thanks to JJ for enriching our lives with this)
Let's twist again
The noses on the faces of the babies at the court of king Caractacus
Moses supposes his toeses are roses

The song lyrics of Tom Lehrer are also a fruitful source of inspiration.

Iny wincy spider

OxyMoron · 05/10/2004 21:13

Sing a song of sixpence
Pop goes the weasel
Humpty Dumpty
Mary had a little lamb
This is the house that Jack built
One two three four five, once I caught a fish alive
all the usual ones..
and one my mother found that I'd never heard before:

Moses supposes that toeses are roses
But Moses supposes eroneously
Because nobodies toeses are posies of roses
As Moses supposes his toeses to be!

You are the sunshine of my life
