Toddler not eating much week after bug

DS aged 15 months had sickness bug saturday last week (1 week ago) and his appetite isn't back yet. He will eat crisps, toast and yoghurt sometimes and that's all. He isn't even eating blueberries which have always been his favourite. Will it come back to normal soon enough? Just seems like it's been ages now with him not eating much

it can sometimes take 2 weeks ish for the appetite to come fully back in my experience. usually my dc won't want to eat much but it might be worth trying bread mashed into warm milk, with a little sugar sprinkled on top? it is soft and slips down quite easily

I agree with the PP about sometimes taking a couple of weeks to come back. I usually make sure they are drinking plenty of milk in the meantime.

He's lost interest in milk since he was about 13 months, I do him some in a free flow cup but he doesn't usually drink much. The bread is a good idea he might like that. Thanks for the reassurance too about it can take a couple of weeks, good to know

My DS was sick last Saturday too and is only just about getting his appetite back too. He went off all his favourites, he just wanted plain rice and pasta. Maybe a banana thrown in here or there. Tonight he ate all his tea with gusto, so I'm hopeful he's on the mend.

Your DS will be fine not eating for a few weeks while he's poorly, unless you've got some underlying health condition that you're worried about. He'll probably eat you out of house and home when he's feeling better to make up for it!
