I can't take the pressure! Some days I cry, other days I can't wait, it's a rollercoaster of emotions. Some days I even want to home school! I just want to know which school it is so I can mentally prepare!

It's only 6 months until September!!! Sad

Are you usually this anxious about things because this isn't a normal response. I am also waiting as are all the parents of DS' friends and none of us feel the way you do. Perhaps you need to get some help with your anxiety?

AmputatedSoul · 11/03/2020 15:10

OP that's a bit extreme.

I only put one school down on my application and it isn't even in catchment. It's a faith school and is extremely competitive to get in and although I meet criteria it's not a given we'll get in.

What will be will be.

Is this primary school places?

I'm waiting too and, to be completely honest, haven't thought about it since sending the application.
Never mind being so anxious as to count down the days.

Few deep breaths OP. What will be will be.

I'm soooooo stressed about my small starting school :( I dont want her to go at all. It feels like the end of an era. Life will never be the same again. Everyone says their kids change when they go to school :(

@inahaze it is upsetting. My little one is still 3 and goes to nursery at the school we've applied for. I sent her purely so we could both get used to it before reception in September.

They do change, your routine changes but you'll both adapt.

'Life will never be the same again'

Is a tad dramatic, kids have to grow up at some stage - you can't baby them forever.

I'm excited for my little girl to start school. I can't wait to watch her grow into her own little person, making friends and learning.

I know it's a new chapter but it doesn't have to be upsetting.

It probably helps that DDs birthday is the 1st of September, so she'll already be 5 when she starts school; I might've felt differently if she was a summer baby.
