Feeling Lost

Does anyone else feel like they don't recognize themselves when they stand in a mirror? Most of the times I even ask myself "who are you". Why is admitting you are having a hard time as a new mother so wrong? Everytime some one asks how I am doing, I always lie and say how great it is, which it is sometimes but I feel shy or embarrassed to actually speak my truth ang say that, I have been struggling to find myself and being a mother is HARD!!!!!

I completely understand how your feeling! Being a mum changes us so much.
With my second pregnancy I struggled with prenatal and post natal depression. I never told any about this until my baby was 3 months old, and I can say opening up was the best thing I ever did. Already having one child and working at a nursery I felt embarrassed that I wasn’t feeling that way i was ‘suppose too’ after finally breaking down in front of a friend and getting my emotions out, and her amazing response, I felt so silly for not opening up sooner, now when ever I’m asked how I am, I feel as if I can answer honestly and get a wonderfully supportive and kind response back, just need to give over that first hurdle of opening up! I hope all the best for you 😊

It's so hard, but telling people and letting them in honestly helps

I felt like I lost a bit of me and just became a mum. It wasn't until I was back at work for about a month before I found "me" again and I have been so much happier and a better parent. It's really hard not to lose part of who you are.
