Hi everybody 👋 I took my 18 month old swimming today and he absolutley loved it!! However I felt like I just held him the whole time and he got fed up 🙄. I was looking into swimming lessons for toddlers but not sure if it's worth it?? Also, what floats and armbands do you reccomend for an 18 month old??

Thank you all xxx

Mine liked being in these sorts of swim seats

Not that one in particular (my dc are all adults now) and I wouldn't presume to have knowledge of what is available / recommended these days - but it gives an alternative to being held tightly the whole time they are in the water.

But this will lift you off unanswered threads and someone who has had toddlers more recently can help you Smile

I would take along a small bath toy too - little rubber duck or other floating toy.

Swimming lessons are definitely worth it. My local authority's pools use stacking armbands rather than inflatable ones, the teacher said they can regulate their use better. Zoggi toys are good to get the children to reach and extend - or a rubber duck as BackforGood said. Have fun!
