Tell me I’m not the only one who misses a lie in and hates getting up at 5- 6am everyday with the baby 😂 love them so much but wouldn’t it be great if babies all slept in at weekend!

I agree.
I went on a little holiday for a couple of nights earlier this week with our 3 month old daughter, she didn't get the memo it was a holiday and woke up at 5am both mornings!

Agreed, relentless! DD (9) has always been an early riser, I could hear her pottering around in her room at 6am this morning.

Yep. Had a shit night with 2 year old and the usual wake up around 515. Tried everything - shorter naps, more activity during the day, earlier bed fine, later bed time. I think he's just wired that way. So sick of it. Means he watches far too much tv in the mornings because I just can't face anything else.

Well at least it’s not just me then ! I put the tv on first thing and feel guilty too , but I’m just not a morning person at all. I’m a zombie and always have a headache first thing 😩 sleep is the only rubbish thing about parenting for me !

God yes! I feel like I've been run over this morning after being up half the night with an 8mo and a 3yr old.
I think I'd just started getting into a decent bit of sleep when DS woke up and asked to go downstairs Sad
It's the relentlessness of it, knowing that every single day I'll be woken up early by someone else and expected to be up and energised to look after them!

Sadly my 8 year old was wiped yesterday and fell asleep early so has been up since 6...

Burgerandchipvan · 08/03/2020 08:04

MySonIsAlsoNamedBort On our first holiday DS woke up at 4.30 every morning despite him sleeping till at least 6am at home. Not fun.

We split the weekend lie ins so we each get one but it's not the same. I really miss a sleep in with OH (wasn't always just sleeping Wink)

4.45 this morning, 5 yesterday morning. Last night he wouldn't go to sleep until nearly 10, and then he was up through the night too.

He's running absolute riot around the house today and I'm googling whether I can get a coffee IV online. He's 2. When do they start sleeping? He's slept through twice in his life.

Hate them with a passion feel like the walking dead most mornings getting up. Two year old was up at 6 this morning after waking up a few times last night. We've already ran round the park this morning and I know I will have to battle to get him to nap.
Coffee lots of coffee

@Handsoffisback I have tried sleep training - did silent return for three weeks and never managed to get him down with less than 70 returns (in fact it was between 70 and 75 from day one to day 20, didn't go up or down) so decided to leave it a few months before trying again and I'm just too tired to attempt now.

Short of locking his door I don't know what to do next. He can get out of his bed, open the door, open my door, I haven't tried it but I'd put serious money on him being able to scale the baby gate (he's very tall, very resourceful, and very good at climbing). If I put him down will instantly pop back up so the moving chair thing doesn't seem likely. We have a solid routine (story, feed, teeth, wash face, he turns the hall and bathroom lights off, his night light gets turned on).

It's exhausting, he's so much happier when he's slept properly but that just seems to never happen. Trying to get him to nap is like trying to get a fish to walk.
