18 month old eating

Hi all,

I have posted about this before but I am still tearing my hair out with my son's eating. We will have a couple of days where he will eat well. The rest of the time he basically refuses anything I make him. The only thing he wants to eat is crap and fruit. And I know I shouldn't give him crap (and I don't the vast majority of the time) but I always said I didn't want food to be classed as "good or forbidden" for him. So I don't want to deny him all the time as surely that will just make him want it more. But I find myself in a cycle where he just won't even try stuff. He screws his face up and spits out anything and everything. Even if I know for a fact he will like it. It's so frustrating. But even MORE frustrating is that he eats so well at nursery. Double of everything. Vegetables the lot. Won't even touch them with me.

What am I doing wrong. I feel like such a failure and it's really getting to me. I never wanted to be the mum of a child who won't eat anything but fish fingers and chips (although they have their place absolutely) but I can see us going that way.

Any advice please share it. Btw he has been BLW since day 1.

Thanks!!!
