Works book day pj day

Sorry if this seems a really dumb question!! My DS is in reception and for world book day they have a PJ's day at school. What am I meant to put on his feet? Would slippers with a sole be okay?? Or would they be expecting school shoes still? Again sorry if this is stupid but it's my first time having to do this so I haven't a clue what's the right thing xx

Personally I would put trainers him (or whatever’s comfortable)
You could use slippers if you want but would they be secure for running around all day? They also tend to have a soft top so would hurt if someone were to step on his foot? Also, not waterproof

I did think trainers initially but then was worrying something might be said, but I'm just an over thinker. Think that will be the best bet. Thanks
