How to stop the dummy

My sons 2 and a half and weve decided to stop the dummy, he only has it a bed time and then I take it out as soon as he fallen to sleep, anyone have any suggestions on how to do it?

Big boy listen to the birdies. They need dummies for their new babies because it's spring. Find a lovely tin and leave the dummy in it for the baby birds. In the morning you'll have your tin and some biscuits. The baby birds will have the perfect dummy they need and you'll be so grown up.

That's what I told my DS. It worked.

It's also what my Gran and Mum told me.
